For my two projects I have been looking at artist that I personally listen to that give me inspiration one being an artist on youtube that goes by carrot113.
I have been following their work for over a year now as they did many covers and rearrangements of the soundtrack for a game I enjoy called Omori by Omocat. They have since made original compositions accompanied by their own illustrations and animations that follows the characters they have made. I don’t normally gravitate to intense and bass heavy music but the way they incorporate the gentle melodies with piano, violins and synths makes me really engage with their work. It gave me many ideas involving my first project as it will be very personal to myself. They also do animations as well which is a skill I would like to learn in the future but for this project it will be much more simple then theirs as it will take a lot of time and understanding.
Another artist that I have gone to a workshop for is Audrey Chen that did a masterclass on improvisation. I have already written about her for a project last time but I wanted to focus on my experience of using new instruments and listening to others using ones they have either trained in or had an understanding of. That was the basis of how this project came to mind and how being spontaneous will lead to the creation of a new passions.
I have many other inspirations and new ones that I come across as I keep researching.
